"They gave me run support to work with. I hit my spots, pitched to contact and tried to keep the walks at a minimum."

Santangelo credited the win to solid efforts from teammates like Luis Amador who played an incredible offensive game with three stolen bases and two runs.

“I’m really happy to be part of a very deep line-up that can score quickly and often," said Luis Amador, NY Hawks starting center fielder. "Even though we are still gelling as a team and learning what we can all bring to the table, I already have confidence in all of our players and our pitching”.

Billy Benedetto (LF), Richard Quas (2B), and Eric Lorenz (EH) contributed to the Hawks five runs.

The Mohegan Braves managed their only two runs in the sixth inning.

The NY Hawks next game is Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 9:00 AM at Concordia vs. the Westchester Padres.
